I am currently a Senior Economist at the Tax Research and Planning Office of the Hawaiʻi Department of Taxation. In addition, I do economic consulting in forensic and litigation economics and teach online economics courses at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and West Oʻahu. Previously, I worked as an economics professor at Grinnell College, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and Fordham University. I have also worked as an economic consultant in the Development Economics Research Group of the World Bank.

I have Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park and B.A. (Business/Management, Honors) and M.A. (Economics) degrees from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey.

I was a recipient of a campus-wide teaching excellence award at UH-Mānoa and Economics Department Teaching Award at University of Maryland-College Park.
