With over 25 years of teaching and research experience in Economics, I currently work as a Senior Economist at the Hawai'i Department of Taxation. In this role, I write statistical reports, provide revenue impact statements for legislative bills affecting the State, and lead the tax research efforts in the Department. In addition, I own an economic consulting business specializing in forensic/litigation economics and provide expert testimony in the subject of economic damages. Previously, I have worked as an award-winning economics professor at Fordham University, Grinnell College and University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, where I continue to lecture part-time. I have also done economic consulting for various departments of the World Bank. My publications include articles in International Economic Review and Journal of International Economics.

I have Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park and B.A. (Business/Management, Honors) and M.A. (Economics) degrees from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey.
